Play
We take play very seriously at The Atelier. For us, play is synonymous with learning and work, not separate from it. We dedicate significant portions of time towards supporting children’s play urges.
At The Atelier children engage in body play, rough and tumble play, sensory play, social play, imaginative play, and many other forms of play.
When children play, they ideate, plan, sort, classify, test, reorganise, replan, create, collaborate and experience both success and failure. Repeated successful experiences lead to building internal motivation, self-confidence and self-esteem. Emotional regulation and executive function are products of play.
We advocate for their need to discover themselves, others and the world around them through play.
"Emotional regulation and
executive function are products of play."
